Access confirms Labor’s failure on infrastructure

This week’s Access Economics report has confirmed that Labor’s inaction and incompetence over infrastructure is holding the Tasmanian economy back.

Last year, the incompetent Minister, Mr Sturges, failed to get any money for Tasmania out of Kevin Rudd’s $22 billion infrastructure spend, and then, in the December Mid Year Budget update, a massive $410 million of promised infrastructure spending over this year and next has been delayed.

Mr Sturges has yet to reveal which projects have been delayed.  This is not good enough.  Graeme Sturges must explain to Tasmanians which of the promised projects have stalled and have been delayed adding to the slowdown in the Tasmanian economy.

On top of all that, Labor has been in government for nearly 12 years and they have still failed to even produce an infrastructure plan for this state.

Only the Liberals will deliver the real change which will fix Tasmania’s crumbling infrastructure and invest in our economy – by establishing Infrastructure Tasmania, by repairing and duplicating the Midland Highway, and by putting aside $20 million to repair our crumbling regional roads.
